This Privacy Policy explains how Tecopa Hot Springs & Campground (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit tecopahotspringsandcampground.com (the “Site”), make a reservation, contact us, or receive text messages from us.

Who we are

Tecopa Hot Springs & Campground is operated by Flippin-Hamrick, under a 10-year concession agreement with the County of Inyo, which owns Tecopa Hot Springs Park. Flippin-Hamrick is responsible for this Site and for the personal information described in this policy. The County of Inyo does not operate this Site; for information about the County’s own practices, please visit inyocounty.us.

Information we collect

Information you give us

• Reservation details such as your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, dates of stay, party size, vehicle or RV details, and any notes you provide.
• Payment information, which is entered on and processed by our booking and payment providers. We do not store full card numbers on this Site.
• Discount eligibility, such as confirmation that you hold a valid AAA, military, Tribal, or local ID. We may view ID at check-in to verify eligibility.
• Communications you send us by email, phone, or text message.
• Mobile phone number and SMS consent if you opt in to text messages (see SMS / text messaging).

Information collected automatically

• Device and usage data such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, pages viewed, and the date and time of your visit. Our hosting provider records this in server logs to deliver and secure the Site.
• Analytics data about how visitors use the Site, collected through the tools described under Cookies & analytics.
• Approximate location derived from your IP address (for example, city or region). We do not collect precise GPS location through this Site.

How we use information

• To take, confirm, change, and manage reservations and hot springs passes.
• To process payments and apply discounts you qualify for.
• To communicate with you about your stay before, during, and after your visit, including by email, phone, and text message where you have agreed.
• To send marketing messages when you have opted in; you can opt out at any time.
• To respond to questions, requests, and feedback.
• To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site and our services, and to understand how visitors use them.
• To keep the property safe, prevent fraud, and enforce our policies.
• To comply with legal obligations and our obligations under our concession agreement.

SMS / text messaging

We will not share or sell subscriber information with 3rd parties for their direct marketing purposes. No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. By selecting the Check Box on The Bookings Check Out Page Guests Agree to Receive Marketing SMS. Guests may receive an SMS before/during/after their stay with us. In addition:

• How you opt in. You opt in by selecting the SMS consent checkbox on the booking checkout page. The checkbox is not pre-selected, and consent to receive marketing text messages is not a condition of making a reservation or purchase.
• What we send. Messages about your reservation and stay (for example, confirmations, arrival information, and updates) and, if you opted in, occasional offers and news from Tecopa Hot Springs & Campground.
• Message frequency varies based on your reservation and activity.
• Opt out at any time by replying STOP. You will receive one message confirming you have been unsubscribed. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at admin@tecopahotspringsandcampground.com or (442) 453-1987.
• Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile plan. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
• Sharing. We share mobile numbers and SMS consent only with the messaging service provider that sends messages on our behalf, and only to deliver those messages. We never sell or share this information for anyone else’s marketing.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only as follows:

• Service providers who help us run the business and this Site, such as our website host and content delivery network, booking and reservation software, payment processors, email provider, and text messaging provider. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
• The County of Inyo and other government authorities where required by law or by our concession agreement.
• Legal and safety reasons, such as responding to a subpoena or court order, or protecting the rights, property, or safety of our guests, staff, the property, or others.
• Business transfers, if the operation of the campground is transferred to a new operator, in which case information may be transferred subject to this policy.
• With your consent or at your direction.

Text messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with third parties except the provider that delivers our messages, as described above.

Cookies & analytics

Cookies are small files stored in your browser. This Site uses them sparingly:

• Essential and security. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may set cookies needed to protect the Site from abuse and deliver it reliably.
• Cloudflare Web Analytics. We may use Cloudflare’s privacy-focused analytics to count visits and page views. It does not use cookies or track you across other websites.
• Google Analytics. We may use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the Site. It uses cookies and collects data such as pages viewed and general device and location information. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, and you can learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the Site will still work. Global Privacy Control:if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we do not load Google Analytics for your visit. Do Not Track: there is no common industry standard for “Do Not Track” browser signals, so we treat Global Privacy Control as the opt-out signal we honor.

Third-party services and links

This Site includes or links to services operated by others, which have their own privacy policies:

• Weather widget provided by Tomorrow.io, which loads from Tomorrow.io’s servers and may receive your IP address and browser information.
• Booking and ticketing pages for reservations and event tickets, which may be hosted by third-party providers.
• Maps and directions links to Google Maps, and links to local businesses and attractions.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. Please review their policies before providing information to them.

Your California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, you may have the following rights, subject to legal exceptions and to the extent applicable to our business:

• Right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose.
• Right to delete personal information we collected from you.
• Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
• Right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of; we honor Global Privacy Control signals as described above.
• Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.

Under California’s “Shine the Light” law, you may ask whether we have disclosed personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not.

To make a request, email admin@tecopahotspringsandcampground.com or call (442) 453-1987. We will verify your request using information we already have about you, and we will respond within the time required by law. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.

Data retention & security

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy, including to provide services, keep business and tax records, resolve disputes, and meet legal and concession reporting requirements. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information, and this Site is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children’s privacy

This Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Reservations must be made by an adult. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be highlighted on the Site.
